Sponky's weekend output and future plans
Having finished my quilt top during the week, I wanted to get through the other side (not calling this the BOTTOM as I want it to be reversible) and also the binding for the edge this weekend. Pleased to say I got through both, and very happy with the other side (
see here). Also happy I got through the binding, but 10m looks
very unimpressive when all tided away...
So, I need to get some wadding, and also wait for my fancy device to arrive (at LEAST another week, so they tell me). In the mean time, I am going to get through my backlog of clothes sewing. I want to make:
- another two mistake shirts out of this and this. Very easy to wear, and it just looks funky. Get alot of compliments on the first one, but wasn't sure if it was the pattern or the material. Guess I will find out.
- Some sarong style skirts from this and this. Loved the concept of a sarong last summer from a coolness perspective, but honestly, they are FRAUGHT WITH DANGER. Always coming down/loose, and I am perpetually hooking material into my undies to prevent disaster. So they are going to be turned into long skirts with side slits and a drawstring waist band. Comfort of the sarong without the impending danger. Really happy with the stripey material - it was cheap and when I bought it, though, hrm, metal threads, not sure, - but they came up much more shiny and interesting when I washed them. And the batik is a gift from DjBebe from last Xmas!
